Create an account and sign in
Sign in with an email code, Google or your phone, and what “confirm it’s you” means.
On this page
There are no passwords in OweJar. You prove it’s you with a one-time code sent to your email, with your Google account, or by approving the sign-in on your phone. The same steps create a new account if you don’t have one yet.
Sign in with an email code
- Open https://owejar.com/sign-in, or choose Sign in or create an account on the home page.
- Enter your email and choose Send code.
- Check your inbox (and junk folder) for a 6-digit code. It expires after 5 minutes and you can try 5 times.
- Enter the code and choose Sign in. If this email is new to OweJar, your account is created now and starts empty.
Choose Send a new code, check the address for typos with Use a different email, and look in spam or junk. Never share a code with anyone; OweJar will never ask you for it.
Continue with Google
Choose Continue with Google and pick a Google account. Google must have verified its email address.
- If the Google address matches your OweJar account’s email, you sign in to that account and Google is connected to it automatically.
- If you have connected this Google account from Account → Sign-in methods, it opens your account even when its email is different from your OweJar email.
- Otherwise, a new account is created with the Google address.
OweJar keeps only the link to your Google account and its address. It never stores Google passwords or tokens and never reads your Gmail or Drive. See Sign-in methods and connecting Google.
Sign in with your phone (QR code)
If you already use the OweJar phone app and are signed in there, the sign-in page may show a QR code:
- On your phone, open Me → Sign in to web and scan the code on your computer screen.
- Check that the confirmation code on the phone matches the one in the browser.
- Review the account and browser, then tap Approve sign-in.
QR codes expire after 5 minutes. The camera image stays on your phone. QR sign-in isn’t offered when connecting an AI assistant or when an action needs a fresh sign-in.
“Confirm it’s you”
Some actions need a sign-in from the last 10 minutes: deleting your account, disconnecting Google, forgetting a phone and approving changes requested by an AI assistant. When that happens, OweJar asks you to confirm with a new email code or with Google, then takes you back so you can try again. Your records don’t change in between.
How long you stay signed in
A browser stays signed in for 30 days and renews while you keep using it. To sign out, open Account and choose Sign out at the top of the page. Signing out of the browser doesn’t sign out your phone, and it doesn’t disconnect AI assistants; see Permissions, approvals and safety.
