Terms of Service

These terms describe using OweJar’s mobile app, cloud service, web app and authorised AI connections. OweJar is operated by Nivesh Saharan. Contact hey@nive.sh with questions.

Effective and last updated: 13 October 2026

What OweJar provides

OweJar helps you keep a personal ledger of money owed, split expenses, recorded repayments, bills, deliveries and reminders. A ledger entry describes information you record; it does not prove that a real payment occurred or create a bank transaction. OweJar does not access bank accounts, transfer funds, pay bills, collect debts or provide financial, investment, tax or legal advice.

Your account and responsibilities

Use an account you are authorised to control. Protect access to your email, devices and connected clients. Keep records accurate, review commands and outcomes, and promptly revoke unwanted access. You are responsible for information and ledger changes you enter or authorise, including actions requested through an AI client.

Do not attempt unauthorised access, bypass authentication or subscription controls, interfere with other accounts, misuse sign-in codes, exploit the service, or submit unlawful content. We may restrict access to address misuse, security threats or legal requirements.

Cloud, web and AI access

Cloud-backed features require an internet connection and an account with active cloud access. Verify your email to create an account. OweJar Pro is required for personal cloud ledger access; purchases are managed through the mobile app and applicable app store. Pro accounts can create a fresh empty book on the web or activate and sync an existing mobile book. Availability can depend on your subscription. The web app and AI connection use saved cloud records; phone changes are unavailable until synced, and local photos and backups are not exposed by these features.

Connecting an AI client grants the permissions shown during authorisation. It may read records and request allowed changes. Deletions and other protected changes require OweJar’s separate human approval. Approval applies to the exact prepared command and can expire. You can revoke a connected client in OweJar. The AI provider’s own terms also apply to its service; OweJar cannot remove information already returned to that provider’s conversations.

Shared demonstrations

OweJar may provide a separate password-protected reviewer account with fictional data and demonstration access. It is shared, and other people with those credentials can see and change its records. Do not enter personal or real financial information. Its identity and credentials are managed by OweJar; it is not a purchased Pro subscription.

The read-only public demo opened from the home page holds fictional records only. It cannot save changes, connect AI clients or create payment details or links, and OweJar may change, replace or remove it at any time.

Your information

You retain your rights in the content you provide. You permit OweJar and its service providers to process it as needed to operate the features you use, carry out your requests, maintain security and provide support, as described in our Privacy Policy. You must have the necessary rights or permission to record information about other people. Do not put bank credentials, payment-card details or unrelated sensitive information in the ledger.

Subscriptions and store agreements

Purchases made through Apple or Google are billed by that store. The price, billing period, renewal terms and trial conditions shown at purchase apply. Manage cancellation and request refunds through the store under its applicable rules; we do not promise a separate refund deadline. Deleting OweJar or your cloud account does not cancel a store subscription.

Apple’s standard licensed application agreement applies where applicable to the iOS app, alongside applicable store terms. These OweJar terms cover the web, cloud and AI-connected service. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

Stopping use and deleting data

You may stop using OweJar, revoke clients, export supported records or request cloud account deletion. An inactive cloud ledger is scheduled for removal after 12 months, subject to provider verification and cleanup availability. Cloud expiry and explicit account deletion are different actions; see the retention and deletion details in our Privacy Policy.

Cloud deletion revokes access and queues cleanup. It does not erase local phone data, exported or device backups, AI conversation history or store purchase records. Keep any copies you need before requesting deletion and cancel subscriptions separately.

Availability and recordkeeping limits

We work to keep OweJar available, but service interruptions, sync delays, errors and changes to supported features can occur. Review saved outcomes and keep independent copies of important records. Do not rely on OweJar as the sole evidence of a debt, payment or delivery, or for an urgent financial decision. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

These terms do not exclude rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. Nothing here limits your mandatory consumer or privacy rights.

Updates and support

We may update these terms as the service changes. The current version and effective date are published on this page, with additional notice where required. For support or questions about these terms, visit Support or email hey@nive.sh.
